What started as a simple request for a one page online resume grew into an online portfolio/personal diary. This web site not only captures Captain Martyn's navigating experience, but also shows his passion for the open sea. In this case, Captain Martyn was going with a template look and realized that something was missing, the personable aspect.
Apart of my design process is to listen to your mission behind what it is that you do and to discover the emotive content which I'll use as the essence of the web site. This helps me communicate your story visually as well as contextually.
Captain Martyn has a collection of photos from his journeys around the globe and I wanted to tie it into the opening theme and title of "World Navigator." We thought arranging the photos to resemble a scrap book would add a traveler's post card effect. I also designed the site so that he can make changes to the content and post his articles featured in yachting magazines.
"After a chance meeting with Sahim we discussed how I wanted more from my website than what I had in place. After a very painless couple of hours we had a format that when first sent to me to proof was far beyond my expectations.
